Ashoka Chakra used in Buddhism book instead of Dharmachakra: Sajith

Colombo, January 9 (Daily Mirror) - Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said another serious error has been reported in the Buddhism subject where the Ashoka Chakra has been used instead of the Dharmachakra in the Buddhism book.

He told Parlaiment that the Dharmachakra, which is used in the Buddhism book, is not the one used in the state symbol.

The Opposition Leader said it is a serious error and called on the Education Minister to rectify it.

Education Minister, Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya said the Dharmachakra, which is used in the Buddhim book, is the one which has been approved by the Ministry of Buddhist Affairs.

She said the Dharmachakra, which is used in the Buddhism book is approved by the Ministry of Buddhist Affairs and the advisory board of the Ministry on Buddhism as well.

The Premier said when she raised the matter with the Mahanayake Theras during her recent visit, the Mahanayake Theras also stated that the Dharmachakra, which is used in the Buddhim book is the approved one.
