Army denies reports on Brigadier on duty at PM’s office being suspended
Brigadier Anil Somaweera of Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 142 Brigade Commander who was on duty at the Prime Minister’s Office when it was taken over by protesterson July 13, has not been suspended over the incident, the Army said today.
Army Spokesman Brigadier Nilantha Premaratna said that news regarding the suspension of duties of Brigadier Somaweera was incorrect.
He said that the Brigadier in question has been assigned to Army Headquarters.
