Amidst the ongoing violent clashes between Israel and Palestine, another Sri Lankan individual has been reported missing, bringing the total number of missing Sri Lankans to two.
According to the Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel, one Sri Lankan national has been injured, while two remain missing.
The injured individual was employed at a tourist hotel in the region.
Expressing concern over the missing Sri Lankans, the embassy has stated that if any information regarding their whereabouts cannot be obtained, their details will be shared with the Red Cross for further assistance.
Foreign nationals from around the world have been reported killed or missing in Israel, and the combined death toll among Israelis and Palestinians crossed 1,000.
Accordingly, several Americans, one Canadian, two Thai nationals, one Argentine citizen, a French woman are among the foreign nationals who are believed to be dead so far while two Canadians and a British national have gone missing.
In addition, a Mexican man and woman are believed to be among those held captive in Gaza while two French citizens were injured, one critically, during shelling in the coastal city of Ashkelon.
The death toll in Israel has reached a shocking number, with approximately 1200 people losing their lives in the recent conflicts. Among them, nearly 500 deaths occurred in Gaza.
