Recently I visited the Dalada Maligawa and saw the luxury vehicles that Dela Bandara uses. Can some one highlight how the money collected at the Maligawa is used. This charity money must be used for charitable causes

With Video and cloud storage facilities available, if this kind of legal regulations are needed to preserve same, then also look at giving legal acceptance to video based archiving in both private and public cloud environments. So that the correct dances can be followed in the future too. Eg. Invest in digital archiving at the dept of archives and other places. simultaneously look at converting old (non digital) tapes, VCR types into digital archiving. Even Virtual Reality should be looked at for preservation purposes of our cultural performances.

The use of elephants on Peraheras must be banned. It is a cruelty to these majestic animals. It is torture for the elephants when they have to walk through crowds of people with loud, horrible music, equipped with idiotic cloaks, turrets and electric lighting, tied with chains. And that's just because animal-hostile monks want it that way for the amusement of locals and tourists. Everyone should boycott a Perahera in which elephants participate and are therefore abused.
