Advisory issued for severe lightning in several provinces

Colombo, February 14 (Daily Mirror) - The Department of Meteorology has issued an ‘Amber’ advisory warning of severe lightning in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern Provinces, as well as in the Badulla and Nuwara Eliya districts.

The advisory, issued at 11.30 a.m. today (14), will remain in effect until 11.30 p.m.

According to the department, thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur in several areas, with temporary localided strong winds expected during thundershowers.
