A total of 83 Sri Lankan expatriates were among the 331 persons who were tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said.
According to the NOCPCO, 248 patients have been identified locally out of which the majority of 49 were from Matara, 34 each from Matale and Gampaha districts and 25 from Colombo District. Meanwhile,103 cases were reported from other districts.
By this morning, a total of 88,237 persons confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the deceased.
A total of 84,968 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 2,737 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.
The NOCPCO said that 10,411 persons in 105tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine while 5,543PCR tests have been conducted yesterday.
