COLOMBO (Daily Mirror) - The United Postal Trade Unions Front (UPTUF) has decided to launch a 48-hour strike from midnight today, UPTUF convener Chinthaka Bandara said.

He said the strike will be launched against the decision to sell the buildings where the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya post offices are located.

These Trade unions have the 'Dog in the manger' attitude. They are neither productive at work, nor will allow considering alternate options. Govt. should go ahead with the plans and should not be held to ransom by these ragtag's.

Trade unions of all professions, University students and dons etc. were the ones who were sabotaging progressive plans for privatisation, optimal usage of state institutions and facilities, establishing private universities to prevent valuable forex going out of the country, etc. Even after bankruptcy the thinking of this moronic clan has not changed. Typical islanders (narrow) mentality.

This is very silly demand, selling buildings has nothing to do with workers' demand, trade unions are there to fight for workers againt supression, demand for benefits etc,.

Buildings can be sold say if it is Govt.property or private property to get a monthly financial income to find way to partly postal staff but PO's should be relocated not to inconvenience staff distance wise.
