A group of 38 people in a fishing trawler was taken into custody by the Navy off Galle while attempting to sail to Australia illegally, police said.

They said that the group comprised 35 Tamils, two Sinhalese and a Muslim. They were residents of the Mahabage, Ampara, Trincomalee, Vavuniya, Kilinochchi, Beruwala, Jaffna, Mullaitivu, Puttalam and Kalmunai areas.

Main culprits who are behind this are in higher up positions. They take the money and later give information to Navy. So you can realise who is behind this.

Isn’t it interesting to find out why people are risking their lives to run away from the Country? One thing we know is that it never happened before in Democratic Sri Lanka. All this started once it was turned into a corrupt lawless Banana Republic with Jungle Law. International community, please have mercy on asylum seekers as they are running away from the most dangerous Country to live.

How do you named these ppl as asylum seekers ? they are totally illegal migrants. They breech immigrations laws and pay the money and travel illegally to Australia. Same ppl who traveled Italy in back.
