16-year-old girl Injured in Kohuwala shooting

A 16-year-old girl was injured in a shooting incident reported last night from the Bodhiwatte area along Saranankara Road in Kohuwala, police said.

According to police, two suspects who arrived on a motorcycle opened fire at a person in the area. It is suspected that the girl was struck by a bullet fired from a nearby house.

The injured teenager was admitted to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital for treatment. Further investigations are being carried out to identify and arrest the suspects involved in the shooting.
