16 injured in Negombo Prison clash; STF deployed to restore order

Colombo, July 5 (Daily Mirror) - At least 16 inmates were injured following a clash between two groups of prisoners at the Negombo Prison, police said.

According to the Director of the Negombo Hospital, all 16 injured inmates were admitted to the hospital for treatment after the unrest inside the prison.

In response to the incident, authorities deployed the Police Special Task Force (STF) to assist in bringing the situation under control.
