10-year-old Saudi boy runs over Lankan expat

A 10-year-old Saudi boy was alleged to have run over and killed a Sri Lankan expat crossing a road in Abha, Saudi Arabia on Friday.


The boy was allegedly driving a car when he hit the victim, reports Arab News.


Sri Lankan Mohamed Shamsul Zaman worked in a pastry shop in Muhayil, 50km from the city centre. His family has reportedly given permission for his funeral to be held in Saudi with a burial in Muhayil.


An official from the Sri Lankan Consulate in Jeddah told Arab News “We are waiting for the police to complete the investigations to pursue action for making a claim,”


The 10-year-old boy has been taken into custody.
