10 independent parties not to accept positions in new Govt.: Wimal

The ten independent parties have decided not to be party or accept any positions in the new government, National Freedom Front (NFF) leader Wimal Weerawansa said.

He told a news conference that however, they would not disrupt the new governemnt and that they would support government's constructive actions as opposite benchers.

He said they do not believe newly appointed Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe would be able to stabilise the country's economy.

“Mr. Wickremesinghe is a person who should be held responsible for this economic crisis,” he said. (Ajith Siriwardana)
