10-hour water cut in several Kalutara areas tomorrow

Colombo, June 9 (Daily Mirror) - The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) announced that water supply will be suspended for 10 hours in several areas of the Kalutara District tomorrow (10), due to an interruption in electricity supply to the Kehena Water Treatment Plant.

Accordingly, water supply will be interrupted from 8.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. in Kalutara, Wadduwa, Matugama, Beruwala, Aluthgama and Payagala.

The NWSDB said the temporary suspension is necessary as operations at the treatment plant will be affected by the power outage.

The Board expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to consumers and requested the public to use water sparingly during the interruption period.
