’’I didn’t think a podium would come this early’’: Yevan

Colombo, July 5 (Daily Mirror) - "It's a pretty crazy feeling, honestly. Walking into the F1 paddock now... it's just an incredible feeling," said Yevan David after making history with a sensational second-place finish in the FIA Formula 3 Sprint Race at the iconic Silverstone Circuit.

Driving for AIX Racing, David delivered a composed and determined performance to secure his maiden FIA Formula 3 podium, becoming the first Sri Lankan driver to finish on the podium in the championship.

Starting from the front row of the grid, David maintained a strong pace throughout the race and successfully defended his position under relentless pressure from the chasing pack during the closing laps. Despite the race winner pulling away at the front, the Sri Lankan youngster remained calm and consistent to cross the finish line in second place.

"I didn't think a podium would come this early," he said, adding that he was "very proud" of both himself and Sri Lanka.
