The National ICT Awards (NBQSA) 2025, is set to take place at the Taj Samudra Hotel, Colombo on October 10.
Organized by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT – Sri Lanka Section and the National ICT Awards Trust, the annual ceremony continues its tradition of honouring innovation, creativity, and technological leadership across the nation.
This year’s competition features entries across multiple categories, reflecting the rapid evolution of the ICT sector.
The awards will be presented under the following main categories:
In addition, special recognitions such as the Lifetime Achievement Award and Female Tech-Blazer Award will honour individuals who have contributed immensely to advancing Sri Lanka’s digital ecosystem.
A unique strength of NBQSA is its link to international recognition. Winners at the national level gain the opportunity to represent Sri Lanka at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards (APICTA)—an international competition that brings together the region’s best ICT innovators.
The chairman of the BCS Sri Lanka Section, Vajeendra S. Kandegamage noted that the awards serve as a catalyst for innovation and investment:
“NBQSA is more than an awards program. It is a platform that challenges our ICT community to think globally, innovate locally, and create digital solutions that can transform both the economy and society.”
This year’s event comes at a time when Sri Lanka is accelerating its digital transformation agenda, with ICT identified as a key driver for post-crisis economic growth. The awards spotlight not only technological ingenuity but also the ability of Sri Lankan innovators to tackle real-world challenges—from e-governance and financial inclusion to health tech, green IT, and education technology.
This year’s organizing committee is chaired by Isuru Sirinimal and Prof. Lasith Gunawardena is the Chief Judge in the evaluations.
