Motorcylists are an ignorant menace on our roads. The bystanders should have whipped his ass.

We face this problem every evening at Jambureliya junction on the Bandaragama/ Kesbewa road, We stand for several minutes at the pedestrian crossing and have to force ourselves forward, because the motorist will never stop at the crossing to allow the pedestrians to cross.

It was clearly the fault of the biker as the law states. But pedestrians must take precaution while crossing even on the pedestrian crossing. I've seen people crossing with headphones and phones to their ears not paying attention to the vehicles. The police need to prevent this type of accident by warning pedestrians. People should never take eyes off on coming traffic while crossing. It's a matter of life and death. Advice should be to make eye contact with the motorist before proceeding.
