Rain ruined proceedings on day one of the three-day SLC Emerging Trophy Inter-Club Cricket Tournament semi-finals which began at the FTZ Grounds in Katunayake and at the P. Sara Oval in Colombo yesterday.
SSC were bowled out for 128 runs in their first innings and Colts CC in reply were 61 for four when bad light stopped play.
Meanwhile, an unbeaten half century by Kavinda Irosh helped Chilaw Marians CC reach 125 for two in their first innings against Army CC.
At Katunayake
SSC: 128 (Krishan Sanjula 28, Sohan de Livera 25, Akash Senaratne 20, Dhananjaya Lakshan 4/28, Praveen Jayawickrama 3/12, Kavishka Anjula 2/36)
Colts CC: 61/4 (Prince Fernando 24, Akash Senaratne 2/27).
At P. Sara Oval
Chilaw Marians CC: 125/2 (Lasith Croospulle 20, Kavinda Irosh 56 n.o, Sanoj Wijetunga 38 n.o) vs Army CC.
