Speaker Karu Jayasuriya is likely to contest the general elections from the Gampaha District, well informed UNP sources said yesterday.
They said that Speaker Jayasuriya was not keen to be included in the national list.

“Mr. Jayasuriya will contest from the Gampaha District considering the current political situation,” they said.  It was also reported that Party Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe is likely to contest from the Colombo District.
