Fire destroys safety match factory in Aladeniya, Kandy

A fire had destroyed a safety match factory in Aladeniya area in Kandy yesterday. The owner of this factory said that the loss sustained due to this fire was more than Rs. 30 million. Katugastota police said that the employees working inside the factory at that time had escaped unhurt. The workers of the factory, the people of the area and the fire fighters of the Kandy Municipal Fire Brigade Unit extinguished the fire. The cause of the fire was undetermined and the Katugastota Police are carrying out further investigations.
