An elderly couple working on a rubber estate had been trampled to death by a rogue elephant last morning. The victims K.Ramakrishnan (65) and Annavi Mariyai (57), parents of three children, were rubber tappers on Parawila Estate. Police said the victims had died at the scene of the incident.
The inquest was to be held at the Divisional Hospital, Okkampitiya last afternoon by Inquirer into Sudden Deaths, Nimal Ranjith.
