HNB Senior Manager Deposit Mobilization Supun Dias spoke about the reasoning behind the introduction of this new product.
“We carried out extensive market research and internal discussions with HNB staff before coming up with HNB YOU. This helped us understand that urban, semi urban and rural youth, in spite of their diverse backgrounds, have similar aspirations such as career advancement, financial security and a comfortable lifestyle.
Youth are the driving force behind a nation’s development, both economically and socially. As a bank which has served the nation for over 125 years we consider it our duty to offer a product which supports youth to pursue their goals and become responsible citizens of this country. These are overarching principles which led to the introduction of this product.”
HNB YOU account holders enjoy higher interest rates on deposits as well as reduced interest rates for educational, vehicle, microfinance and home loans and also enjoy HNB’s award-winning rewards programme Pathum Vimana rewards. The account comes with a free HNB Travel Card and a credit card with no joining fee and the first year annual fee waived off.
