If the people were able to stay at home amidst the existing traffic restrictions, it will be possible to open the country in some way after June 14, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.

He said the decision to reopen the country is in the hands of the people and the people should abide by the quarantine regulations and provide maximum assistance to the health sector.

He also urged people not to leave the house for any reason other than essential work.

Meanwhile, a total of 975 persons have been arrested yesterday for violating the quarantine rules.

The spokesman said that during vehicle inspections at 14 entry and exit points in the Western Province, a total of 59,280 vehicles have entered Colombo.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)

provide essential goods dry ration to everyone and close the country one month, as people are suffering immensely due to prevailing situation of corona/weather. if anyone violates, give severe punishment.

The public have been staying at home. Virtually all those on the road are out for essential services. The Government has does everything wrong and now wants to blame the people. The people running the country are clueless!
