Narammala Deputy PS Chairman arrested for assaulting PC

Deputy Chairman of Narammala Pradeshiya Sabha Manjula Polgampola has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a police constable last night, Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekera said.

He said the PC who was on duty was threatened and assaulted inside the Narammala Police Station at around 10.45 pm yesterday.

The injured constable was admitted to the Kuliyapitiya Hospital.

The Deputy PS Chairman was arrested and to be produced in the Kuliyapitiya Magistrate’s Court today, SP Gunasekera said.
