More trains to operate from tomorrow: SLSMU

The Railways Department has decided to increase the number of train services operating on all lines with effect from tomorrow, the Sri Lanka Railways Station Masters' Union (SLSMU) said.

They said 64 train services on the main-line, 74 trains alonh the coastal line, 12 on the Kelani Valley line, six trains on the Nothern Line and 26 trains on the Puttlam line will run during the week from tomorrow.

All train services have been added to the railway time table to make it easy for commuters.

Meanwhile, the SLSMU said that the long-distance services will no longer be operational. 

However, most of the long-distance and goods trains may be on the tracks this month, the SLSMU said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
