This will never happen. The best solution would be SriLankan and Tamil Nadu fishermen to have free access to catch fish in any shores under the jurisdiction of both states.

Its the not only about the crossing the borders . The method of using small nets for bottom trawling fishing which damage to the environment. On 17 November 2004, the United Nations General Assembly urged nations to consider temporary bans on high seas bottom trawling. Why Sri Lankan environmentalist are silent about it.

These fellows are no different from the Indian fishermen, they protest because they do not want competition in robbing the livelihood of the Northern Tamil fisherfolks. Plain and simple.
