Social media blocked

Social media platforms including WhatsApp, facebook and YouTube have been temporarily blocked in Sri Lanka, official sources said.  


They said that the decision to ban social media sites had been taken in an effort to stop the spread of rumours following the violence that erupted between two groups of civilians in Negombo last evening.
