Gampaha Additional Magistrate Manjula Karunarathne yesterday fined an accused Rs.400,000 for having in his possession five imported cigarettes for sale.
The accused had failed to appear in court on September 26th and an arrest warrant had been issued on him. The Weerangula Police arrested the accused and produced him in court. The accused was identified as Debe Gamage Harshana Anuradha, a resident of National Housing Complex Borella.The complaint was led by SI Ariyasinghe of the Weerangula Police station.
