The police are hoping to obtain detention orders from the courts on Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Pelwatte Sugar factory Asminath Surakman Deen and two other employees who were arrested with VIP security uniforms and several other equipment on Tuesday (7), a senior police officer told Daily Mirror.

The Pelawatte Sugar factory COO and the two employees were nabbed by security personnel at a sugarcane cultivation last Tuesday, following a tip-off given by another employee of the factory who had noticed the two individuals  leaving the COO’s official residence with a small luggage.

COO Surakman Deen (37), is a resident of Nugegoda while the other two employees being a driver and a labourer working at the factory.

During the search operations, the security personnel recovered five walkie-talkie units, three set of VIP security uniforms and other equipment.
