Arrested by officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau
They had 700 milligrams of heroin

Karuwalagaswewa Pradeshiya Sabha member Dimantha Vimukthi Ekanayake (UNP) was yesterday arrested at Anamaduwa while in possession of 700 milligrams of heroin.

Police said the 28-year-old PS member, a resident of Karuwalagaswewa, was arrested by officers of the Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB) while travelling in a three-wheeler on the Anamaduwa-Puttalam Road.

He was produced in the Anamaduwa Magistrate’s Court and remanded till August 22.
