ecisions made by President to halt police promotions and Committee on Public Enterprises' (COPE) decision to repatriate Sri Lankan expatriate workers using Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau (SLBFE) are commendable, but the Head of state should see to it that these decisions are implemented,  SJB MP and Head of Operations Harin Fernando said yesterday.

The SJB Head of Operations speaking at a press conference said, the President should see to it that things are done in the proper manner, as time is running out.

“We are happy about the directive given by COPE to use the SLBFE funds to repatriate Sri Lankan expatriate workers, as we have been raising the issue several times.

Also we are happy about the decision by the President to halt promotions within the police department.
