Govt identifies period till April 10 as ‘High risk’ Puttalam district identified as high risk zone

The government has identified the period till April 10 , 2020 as a high risk period for the spread of coronavirus and therefore the curfew situation in the western province will continue, a minister said.   

Cabinet spokesman Minister Bandula Gunawardane told Daily Mirror yesterday that this was discussed at a meeting chaired by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Wednesday evening.  


He said the Puttalam district had been identified as a high risk district. “We have to control the situation during this period. If we manage the situation until then, we can come out of it,” he said.  


He said the government laid down a plan for the distribution of essential items for people during this period.
