The Army has launched a special investigation to identify a person on a video clip showing a suspected military member watching a group of violent saboteurs in Thunmodara.
Military Spokesman Brig. Sumith Atapattu said that attention had been drawn to the video clip, where a person dressed in uniform similar to that of the Army was watching on without taking any preventive action against a group of violent saboteurs. The Army had requested the general public to help trace the person for necessary action. If the inquiry confirmed that the person in question was an Army soldier, the Army would take disciplinary action against him, the Army said.
The public is requested to inform Special Investigation Unit of Corps of Military Police through 011 2514280 if they possess any information to this effect, the Army said.
