Not a sensible cartoon. Now vegetables rice coconut, eggs prices are at comparatively at low price. Even fish is also at stable price for long time despite diesel price hike. With considering world situation, COL increase is reasonable. No body could control it. Without any of these issues, did Ranil gave any concession to masses in his regime in 2002-04 ?? No salary increment, No new jobs and not even any development work in the country. He could have given those facilities to people if he is so worried about them !!

Yes, Ind. Now for the first time after 30 years, parents can expect children to come home safely and children can expect parents to come home safely in the evening without getting blown out. What did the previous governments do from 1977 other than slowly loosing Sri Lankan territory to the LTTE thugs. At least CBK managed to win Jaffna back. JR, Premadasa and Ranil did nothing but only big useless talk. Did the prices come down during their times? My foot. At least now everyone can travel to every corner of the country while holding heads up.

Farmers are being paid such poor prices that they are either throwing out or burying their produce, to rot, as they can't even cover the cost of transport to the collection points. There is something badly wrong in this country, no?

if you are referring to 2002-2004 we didn't have debt over our heads it was just below the ankle and continuing towards a surplus. Go back to school dude and learn economics before you utter rubbish

During Ranil's time, the Government didn't have to borrow to repay the loans which it already taken. No white elephants like the Mihin Air, which is running at a billion rupee loss. and what about the balance of payment? Exchange rate? and now oil crisis?

Mate, Sri Lankans always had debts upto their necks. Present time is also no exception. I rather live with debts than getting blown up by the LTTE thugs. We are lucky that Ranil was thrown out in 2004. Otherwise he would have given away the North and the East to the LTTE by an official deed. Also if he stayed till 2005 the would have invited the Portugese barbarians to celebrate the 500th year celebration of the invasion, as
promised. Don't you guys have any dignity?
