CMA Sri Lanka Digital Learning, consisting of e-learning and video lectures, was launched by Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake at the CMA Budget Highlights programme in keeping with the 2017 budget proposals to create a digital economy.
All students and those employed in the private and public sectors, who enrol on or before December 15, 2016, will be provided digital learning free of charge and will be available anytime, anywhere (24x7) and both e-learning and video lectures can be accessed using both mobile phones and tabs.
CMA, set up with the technical assistance of CMA Canada (now CPA Canada) and incorporated by an Act of Parliament, is an affordable professional accounting qualification. CMA has launched digital learning free of charge to students after A/L, graduates and undergraduates, HNDA and technical college students and those with part professional accounting qualifications. Those in employment in an accounting field in the private or public sector, university lecturers and school teachers, all A/L students receiving tabs are also made to benefit it with the objective of promoting inclusive education and to make it freely available to all who are looking at career progression.
