The Government expects a favorable response from the Indian Government against the Expert Panel report of the UN Chief on Sri Lanka, Minister Wimal Weerawansa said at a press conference this morning.

“We are expecting a response favourable to us by India against the so called experts’ panel report,” Minister Weerawansa said. According to him the Russian ambassador and China had extended their support against the Expert panel report.

“There is no point briefing enemy countries like America who UN secretary general Ban Ki Moon wants to please,” Minister Weerawansa said.
Meanwhile the President and foreign minister will be visiting friendly and neutral nations to get their support against the report, Minister Weerawansa said.
