UNP MP sent out of Chamber

Parliament sittings were suspended for ten minutes a short while ago after a tense situation arose as UNP MP Ajith P. Perera was ordered to be sent out of the Chamber.

Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa today removed ruling party MP A.H.M. Azwer from the chairman panel after examining an incident in which he ordered UNP MP Ajith P. Perera out of the chamber.

The chairman panel comprises members from the political divide of the House. They preside over the House in the absence of the Speaker, the Deputy Speaker and the Deputy Chairman of Committees.

On Several occasions, the Speaker has warned Mr. Azwer not to disturb opposition MPs during their speeches.

It is a shame for the Parliament to have a person like Azwer to sit in the Speaker's chair. Everyone in the country knows this clown well who decamped from the UNP for personal gains. The only place he will now be fit to occupy is either the Home for the Aged or the Mental Asylum.
