UL flight to Karachi cancelled

Karachi-bound SriLankan flight UL 183 scheduled to take off from Colombo at 1.00 pm today was cancelled due to closure of Karachi International Airport, SriLankan Airline said.

Gunmen attacked Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, on Sunday and at least 23 people were killed, including all 10 of the attackers, media reported.

Jinnah International Airport officials had cancelled the flight operations from the airport following the attack.

SriLankan Airline said they are waiting for further instructions from Pakistani authorities for clearance to operate flights and passengers are advised to contact 1979 for further information
