A twelve year boy residing with his parents at the police quarters in Colombo accidentally choked himself to death with a boy scout’s scarf.

The tragedy occurred when he pulled up the knot on the scarf after putting on his brother’s scout uniform, said hospital sources.

The boy’s parents had rushed him to hospital after cutting the scarf but they were too late and the boy died.

The victim was a student of Ananda College, Colombo and the son of a police officer attached to the Narahenpita police.
