The preferential votes obtained by candidates who contested for 23 local government bodies were released by the Elections Department.

Galle Municipal Council: UPFA – Methsiri Silva – 10,700 UNP – M. Lathif – 6,957

Kandy Municipal Council: UPFA – Mahendra Ratwatte – 6,948 UNP – Neranjan Wijerathne – 5,290

Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte Municipal Council: UPFA – Janaka Ranawaka – 16,262 UNP – Sudath Appuhamy – 4,753

Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia Municipal Council: UPFA – Dhanasiri Amaratunga – 25,768 UNP – Sunethra Ranasinghe – 15,660

Colombo Municipal Council: UNP - A.J.M. Muzammil - 55,440 UPFA - Milinda Moragoda - 32,103

Dhanasiri is the mayor of Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia..he spend a lot of money into his campaign...its time for him to bring results of its people.
