Very good move.A three wheeler in bandarawela charges 350 rupees and a three wheeler in kandy charges 500 rupees for the same distance of journey. There are only a handful of three wheelers in Kandy who has meters.Good move, dam the unions.

Excellent move. Not only standard and accurate meters, Should make compulsory to use the meter for any destination of distance. In Colombo they demand a much higher charge without using the meter.

Its high time all vehicles for hire should have meters. It should be mandatory. This would give the public a better service. One would not be at the bargaining end with a driver to get from place to place.

Meters work everywhere else in the world ...prices go up there too , and the system seems to manage ...tuk tuk drivers are used to charging by what people look like . Its time for a more professional service ...maybe even a taxable service ..why shouldnt they pay tax !
