​Liquor shops closed tomorrow

All liquor shops and bars will be closed tomorrow (August 18) in the view of General Election 2015, Commissioner General of Excise, L.K.P. Gunawardene said today.

He said this message had been conveyed to the commissioners of Excise.

    Why wait till election day to announce this? The restaurant I like to go to serves alcohol, so it will be closed. One can plan on almost nothing in this country because the authorities do not consider things well enough in advance.

    good one as always...highest liquor sales day before bars are closed and highest consumption on the day bars are closed. who are we fooling here.
