Men can be victims of domestic violence and it is a known entity..During disputes both parties can exert physical violence against each other and the woman becomes the victim due to shear imbalance of physical power. This may not be the case all of the times and man can be a victim as well some times. This is of course an extreme case and if this woman is mentally sound this can be a case of manslaughter rather than murder. If she has mental health issues it is a different story altogether.

She may be mentally sick which made her to commit the murder. She must have pleaded not guilty on that ground. Mental sickness go without treatment as most people are ignorant of it.
