A representative from the Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) is due next week to observe the proceedings in the case of former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka, UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake told a news conference today.

He said that the IPU had informed the party of its decision in writing.

IPU had also instated preliminary investigations on the attempt made on the life of TNA MP S. Srithraran and on the attack carried out on UNP MPs at the Independence Day protest held calling for the release of Fonseka. (YP)

observing is good. but we don't think u can take any viable reaction against upon those observations. Up to now,as we have experienced, many actions your party made have ended up with no significant effect...

Don't underestimate their efforts. Government with massive majority, is under heavy pressure due to strategic attack of UNP.. No other active opposition in Sri Lanka.
