Hanwella tense as police fire tear gas

Police have fired water cannon and tear gas to disperse hundreds of people protesting against a factory in Hanwella, police said.

“The high level road at Pahathgama, Hanwella has been blocked due to the protest,” a police official said. He said at least twenty protestors were arrested for their unruly behavior.

Main issue is environment protection is been ignored by the central government and provincial government so public have taken the duty of protecting the environment they live
