How can Cameron gain any election advantage from this?
Do the Sri Lankan government think we are all stupid to buy that?
The UK population is around 65 million and out of which Sri Lankans living in the UK is 150,000. And the estimate of total Tamil population in the UK is mere 110,000.
How can they influence election outcome? Tamils are 0.17% of the total population.
Beside most of the Sri Lankans (including Tamil) in the UK do not vote/ like Conservative party, since they have a very strong approach towards migration.
I know this will fall in deaf ears.
Wake up my fellow Sri Lankans!!!
raspi Friday, 29 November 2013 10:11 AM
You ask if SL is stupid to buy that?
LOL just look at the replies to my comments and you will see.

so the missing people 110,000 are in uk.. account closed...
Real Peace Saturday, 30 November 2013 10:02 AM
I agree, I do not think for a High Commissioner to make comments about elections in the host country is correct. Dr N is a diplomat, not a politician. Basically it's a blunder!
roger Saturday, 30 November 2013 10:08 AM
VERY WELL SAID, ATLEAST SOME PEOPLE HERE TALK SENSE, PERHAPS YOU SHOULD TAKE OVER FROM CHRIS NONIS AS THE AMBASSODOR TO THE UK.
MrKasthuri Friday, 29 November 2013 09:38 AM
One of the best intellectuals seen in recent past as a foreign diplomat.
Ami Saturday, 30 November 2013 12:34 PM
According to your ( little ) knowledge ,
Cameron had only the Sri Lankan Tamils on his mind ! How about the rest of the LTTE sympothisors including Indians living in the UK ?
Jaya Saturday, 30 November 2013 12:47 PM
May be my English isnt so good..but however you seem to be a person generaly who is finding faults in others, laughing & crtisising at them. I mean you are a rude person.
Anyways what i understand is, there is no "just english" "Big english" Small english" "broken english"etc.etc.in english it is english regardless the words. But I think Dr. was diplomatic in expressing his views by chosing those words.
Suq Madique Saturday, 30 November 2013 12:49 PM
Its you who needs to wake up srilankan. Otherwise why only countries with a large tamil vote base only cry about human rights? If these countries are so concerned why not they also focus on Stria, Afghanistan, Pakistan and what happened in Iraq?
Suq Madique Saturday, 30 November 2013 12:51 PM
raspi you just made a fool of yourself with an ignorant comment. Problem is you guys don't want to see the other side of the coin because you cannot handle the truth.
vazz Saturday, 30 November 2013 01:16 PM
Is it a Tamil country ? how many tamil people live in UK? hope Dr Chris Nonis has correct figures
an s !!!kith udugama Sunday, 01 December 2013 11:35 AM
Cameroon : butt head
jaye Monday, 02 December 2013 04:04 AM
Dr.N ,repeating what other Top Srilankan diplomats said 3-4 years back.
sa Friday, 29 November 2013 06:53 AM
You are sadly mistaken. He just pointed out the difference in the way they are treating all the atrocities created by them (US and UK) versus what happened in Sri Lanka. At least the war is over and no more deaths. What about Iraq and Afghanistan. still hundreds of innocent civilians are dying everyday. Why CNN and BBC silent about these???
Digital Thinking Friday, 29 November 2013 06:53 AM
I pray to god not happen the thing happened to Dr Dayan Jayathilaka to Dr Nonis..
Ranga Friday, 29 November 2013 06:56 AM
Could not agree more!
As the village saying goes, You can't try selling needle in the street full of needle makers, he won't be taken seriously in English world unless he makes valid point.
May be they not come back if he does not have 'stuff''
ind Friday, 29 November 2013 06:59 AM
Then what do you suppose to do ?? Just say OK to everything or say sorry ???
malkantha Friday, 29 November 2013 07:01 AM
High Commissioner is supposed to safe guard and not to admit.
ind Friday, 29 November 2013 07:01 AM
Anyway after seeing "The last Phase", EU parliamenterians also had a balance picture of Sri Lanka. This film should send to Navi and Cameron also to see.
Nalin Friday, 29 November 2013 07:02 AM
Those words were "big" compared to what our leaders and representatives talks in international scenes. We applauded Dr. Nonis for being different. And he did answered those questions correctly. It seems you are jealous of him.
raspi Friday, 29 November 2013 07:18 AM
LOL Jealous :D? for what?
He is like the English version of WW. Lot of words, hardly any value in them :).
anyways I think personally he is a good gentlemen doing his job.
raspi Friday, 29 November 2013 06:42 AM
I have seen many people applauding Dr Ns interview. but if you look closely you will realize that the CNN guy stops asking anything because there is no point of asking. when asked with a question Dr N just replies back with a question :). and most of the words he uses are 'big' for us but for them it is just English.
so ultimately looks like we just made a fool out of ourselves there also LOL
mohamed asfar Friday, 29 November 2013 08:05 AM
what a smart diplomat ?
Nimal Friday, 29 November 2013 08:48 AM
Then, what about other countries like China, India, US also asking to do inquiry ?????
