This is crazy! Doctors are most earning professional and it is shame toSee that they are asking for concession
Aquarius Wednesday, 02 December 2015 09:10 PM
Do you forget the amount they make consultancies where they hardly give a few minutes with the patients. These unnecessary perks should stop. Definitely they can afford, like the rest of us to buy a car at the normal market price. Let them strike and feel good about their oaths.
Ayurvedic Doctor Wednesday, 02 December 2015 09:48 PM
Let them strike, come to me will provide you a better solution.
kalum Wednesday, 02 December 2015 09:56 PM
only 45000 officers receive these permits. they are the highest salary payment officers in the government. what they do is getting permits every 5 years and selling them to car sales for 22-25 lakes. Then the car sales person look after the rest. General government officers have less salary and get nothing.
nihal Wednesday, 02 December 2015 10:08 PM
this is an unfair request. even a newly recruit docot recives around Rs.60,000 including all the allowance. How abt PP, almost all the docs do it... What a shame THEY ONLY THINK AOBUT THEIR BELLY..
lee Wednesday, 02 December 2015 10:47 PM
Unlike doctors of past generations..many new doctors are arrogant, selfish and money minded..they study from free education and leave the country if the slightest opportunity comes...those who cant go think about money 24/7. But there are still a few good ones who come from good backgrounds mainly..
kondaya77 Wednesday, 02 December 2015 11:23 PM
The doctors get a free education and still they want to fleece the tax payers.Uncouth people.
me Wednesday, 02 December 2015 11:24 PM

geni Thursday, 03 December 2015 12:22 AM
Please STOP free car permits to all.
Anticleon Thursday, 03 December 2015 02:06 AM
This is why I never give even a cent to those medical faculty students coming to me begging for money for their "revolutions" against the authorities.
Sudath Thursday, 03 December 2015 02:57 AM
Strike is not about the car permit..Its about doctors car permit being STOLEN by uneducated parliamentarians..and if you dont like the strike, dont get sick!PP is also cancelled tomorrow!!!
Neville Thursday, 03 December 2015 03:00 AM
Doctors deserve a decent life after all the hard work they do to get through their studies, unlike politicians who are only trained to lie, All professionals working in government should get vehicle permits - it is government extortion of excessive tax to maintain a huge cabinet. If everyone is worried about patients let government restore permits and cut the excessive cabinet/president expenses.
Nims Thursday, 03 December 2015 04:29 AM
Offering duty free vehicle permits must be band to politicians too. Like others they too should buy a duty paid vehicle.
Karu Wednesday, 02 December 2015 08:57 PM
As per our constitution all citizens are equal. Duty free permits for public servants is a crime. Let them demand higher salaries any pay taxes on their private practice
sss Thursday, 03 December 2015 06:28 AM
showing their gratitude for the free education they got. where in other countries it cost like 40 million rupees
Lion Thursday, 03 December 2015 06:41 AM
Never giving to their demand they get free education with the emoney of the people. Now they want to take people for ransom to take these unjustifiable demands.cant the government take a court order to stop this,
chris Thursday, 03 December 2015 06:49 AM
Most doctors earn anything between 100,000 to more than a million a month. Please check their tax returns and raid the consultation chambers for the income documents.
Dee Thursday, 03 December 2015 08:04 AM
Will you be strikinh from private practice as well?
Citizen Thursday, 03 December 2015 09:15 AM
We are a nation of trying to live with concessions.
Neil Thursday, 03 December 2015 09:51 AM
Very shame. government should not bow to their demand. Lot of doctors are become "mudalalis" They got the free eduction and they should work for the people. But they are not concerned with the common people grievances . They worried only about their perks
Raj Thursday, 03 December 2015 09:58 AM
We must provide free vehicle to doctors provided NOT TO ALLOW THEM TO PRACTICE ANY PRIVATE HOSPITALS OR PRIVATE INSTITUTIONS shall we?
amila Thursday, 03 December 2015 10:13 AM
It is true, any one know how many times our great leader late President Premadasa went out of the country, how much he spent for foreign trip
Andrew Pitugala Thursday, 03 December 2015 10:17 AM
It is impossible to withdraw privileges given.Result of political decisions taken without long term considerations just to hold on to power like many other.
Maduranaga Thursday, 03 December 2015 11:00 AM
If they want to leave the country over the privileges they claim they are not getting, let them go, but then they cannot leave the country until they repay the country the full amount spent on the education plus compounded interest. Then they can leave. All doctors who apply for migration should have their Medical license cancelled immediately.
Hash Thursday, 03 December 2015 04:12 PM
I was thinking proper education will make the people in this country better. Guess I was wrong.
Mihilal Fernando Thursday, 03 December 2015 05:31 PM
Doctors are right to get their rights.Politicians money should be controlled
Viktor Wednesday, 02 December 2015 07:19 PM
Although salaries are supposed to be Rs 35,000 and above, there are many additional allowances like transport allowance, overtime even when not at work and doing private practice, 35% research allowance taking the lowest pay to well over Rs 100,000. They will not strike after 4 pm as it would affect their overtime payments. Also ethically they cannot do private practice while on strike.
ANTON Wednesday, 02 December 2015 12:00 PM
DOCTORS HAVE BEEN INFECTED WITH " VEHICLE PERMIT VIRUS"
Premalal Wednesday, 02 December 2015 12:06 PM
Those who have the spoon will serve themselves like the politicians who have been restored their rights to duty free vehicles. Those who have power like the doctors will use it to get their so called right. That leaves the majority of us, the donkeys who voted for politicians and pay for their privileges.
Yapa Wednesday, 02 December 2015 12:34 PM
What a shame ! ! To keep away from treating poor patients for not giving car permits. This billions of rupees saving instead should better be spent in improving the state health sector or to provide low income people to seek treatment at private hospitals. Why 8 to 4.?. After 4.00 start pp.
Dr. jackyl Wednesday, 02 December 2015 12:45 PM
let them strike government should not bow to these people please send the Inland revenue officials to their residencies via DM Android App
Roshan Wednesday, 02 December 2015 03:08 PM

mohan Wednesday, 02 December 2015 03:19 PM
Issue them permit and revoke right to operating /working in private clinic (conflict of interest)
Quack Wednesday, 02 December 2015 04:09 PM
cancel their licence or take some drastic measures to stop this curse..
Roshan Wednesday, 02 December 2015 04:37 PM
MBBS doctors salary is about Rs 35000/- .They should be given the car permit. It is their right.
Upul Wednesday, 02 December 2015 07:08 PM
Isnt this action is against the oath you took when graduated as a doctor?
KOLA KOTIYA Wednesday, 02 December 2015 12:00 PM
ANY GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT ISSUE ANY PERMITS TO GOVERNMENT SERVANTS TO IMPORT VEHICALS. ARE THESE DOCTORS GOING TO UTILIZE THIS PERMIT. 95% OF PERMITS SELLING TO OTHERS. THIS IS A CRIME. HOW MUCH THEY EARN N WILL THEY GIVE FOR CHARITY. ULTIMATELY POOR PEOPEL ONLY HAS TO SUFFER.
Ranjan Wednesday, 02 December 2015 07:58 PM
Even politicians should not be given duty free vehicles. Why only for Public servants. Do they do special service that private? All these doctors etc used public money to become professionals. After using hugh amount of public money then they says they need tax free vehicles to serve the country. What pathetic set of people?
Sapu Wednesday, 02 December 2015 08:05 PM
The govt is doing the right thing by removing permits, selfish doctors will have to deal with it
Raja Wednesday, 02 December 2015 08:21 PM
This vehicle permit culture should be stopped.Welcome Good Governments decision.Keep it up. via DM Android App

Saman Wednesday, 02 December 2015 08:36 PM
We must ask foreign doctors to work for our people while not issuing them any car permits.
