Terming reports of Chinese presence in Sri Lanka a threat to India's national security, DMK chief M Karunanidhi today said the August 12 conference of the pro-Eelam body TESO would discuss it among other things and bring it to the attention of the Centre.

Citing reports in a section of the vernacular media, he alleged that Sri Lanka was setting up a "temporary camp," with the assistance of the Chinese Navy in international waters near Dhanushkodi.

"Should not such issues, a threat to India's security, be discussed and taken up with the Centre for a solution? We are holding TESO (Tamil Ealam Supporters' Organisation) meeting for this purpose only (among others)," he said in a letter to party workers.

Explaining the rationale behind the first meet of the defunct organisation he founded in the 1980s and recently revived by him, Karunanidhi said the conference was an attempt at healing the "wounds sustained by Tamils," due to the ethnic clash in Sri Lanka.

Union Ministers Sharad Pawar and Farooq Abdullah and JD (U) leader Sharad Yadav among a gamut of national and international leaders besides Tamil diaspora will participate in the meet, he added. (Source: DNA India)

In fact Sinhalese must be happy that Karunanidhi did not use his clout over Central Govt during final war against LTTE. Because he wants only power and money and he never thinks beyond his family. He can help Tamils in Srilanka in many ways but not through conference. We Tamils want to help the people affected in war but no politician in Tamil Nadu reflect our wishes.One group is pro LTTE and the rest is selfish people.
You people need not to take Karunanidhi seriously. Please think over how to give normal/good life to your own country men.Yesterday I seen one photograph of a family is crying at the tomb of war victim. It is devasting. With hatred people in Lanka can not lead good life.

Going forward we Sri Lankan's must learn "FOR ONCE" to stand on our own two feet... Yes ! China's presence in SL frightens INDIA Why ? because India is continuing to loose control in the region, while China builds Ports , Naval ports in the region (I.e SL Pakistan Bangladesh and Africa) So don't think the Chinese love us, they are only looking at their own interest.. BUT at present we need to play the diplomatic game even more smarter..So it will be a win-win for our people and meet our national interests.

It is the actions of Jayalalithaa who demands from New Delhi to ban all SL official visits across India & the resurrection of TESO by Karunanidhi including the lack of real investment from New Delhi that China is investing in Sri Lanka. China is also heavily investing in Nepal and Bhutan while New Delhi sings Tamil songs. The massive dam being built in Tibet that once completed will be twice the size of the three Gorges Dam which will block the Brahmaputra river demonstrates India's security concerns are not limited to Sri Lanka.

Mario who created the LTTE was prabakaran. He was brainwashed by his teacher that in cbo all tamils are killed by da sinhalease. What we all forget is that the first victim of LTTE was a tamil – the mayor of Jaffna. To date most no of tamils killed were by the LTTE who hoodwinked the tamils. Also not forgetting what ever the cause massacres & killing of priest bombing religious sites to insite hatred is not justified. Finally GOD intervened & gave his verdict.
