Better still if a daily statement is issued, clearly stating details of every drug administered its price, every service provided and charge, fee and name of every doctor attending to the parient, and any and every other daily charge, for perusal and check by the patient or by his or her representative.

Good move by CAA. Suggest similar bill issued at Government Hospitals too for free treatment, so that patient will get an idea of the cost of treatment incurred by taxpayers on his/her behalf.

The best way to give a run to a pvt hospital is to modernization and well equip the government hospitals. And train the staff.

Good. Also check the room rates charged which is unreasonably very high. They might increase room rates after this detailed bill law to fleece patients in another way.

Durdans hospital charges an extra Rs.25 per debit/credit card transactions.When pointed out that it is not lagal, the answer was that they can do whatever they want.So, This has got to be stopped and all monies that have been collected like this must be made to be returned.

Private hospitals should also NOT be allowed to charge such exorbitant rates and mark up medicines and medical supplies by 200%. Especially the Asiri Group where people are sometimes compelled to go because Doctors practice there.

I WENT TO A PRIVATE HOSPITAL IN WATTALA AREA TO GET A TREATMENT TO A LITTLE HEAD PAIN, FIRST THEY GAVE ME A BOTTLE OF SALINE, THAT TOOK NEARLY ONE HOUR IN AN AC HALL, THEN THEY TOOK AN ECG CHART, BLOOD SUGAR LEVEL AND BLOOD PRESSURE WAS TESTED AND THEY GAVE SOME PILLS, MY BILL WAS AROUND 3000/=. ....... MY QUESTION IS THAT ARE ALL THESE TESTS NECESSARY ???

Also should develop a system to monitor the service levels. It is unfortunate that people demand for service from even a road side vendor but not from a hospital/Dr. My recent expieriane proved that govt hspital staff are getting smater than the pvt.

Very grateful to CAA for this move. The private hospitals are a rip off where the patient/customer is really harassed with excessive charges with no guarantee of recovery from illness.

Excellent move by new govt. after passing the Medicinal Drugs Bill. Hospitals fleece the patients by charging for even a little cotton wool though at times the service falls far short of expected in the nursing area.
