Brother and sister drowned

A nine-year-old boy and his seven-year-old sister have died after drowning in a quagmire in Vavanawatta,  Piliyandala.

The deceased were identified as P.C. Kavindu Kashmeera (9) and Kavini Nivarthana (7). The two were students of Sri Sudarsana  School,  Makanda and were in grades 4 and 2 respectively.

They had been drowned while playing on the new Kesbewa – Bokundara road which is under construction said the Piliyandala police. The bodies are at the Piliyandala Hospital Mortuary.

While returning home with the mother after a tuition class, they had gone to play on the new road.(Siri Mahabellana)
