Chairman Jayewardena added that the exact price and date of the increase will be decided after a meeting on Monday.

The bread price increase is in light of the flour price increase by Rs 8.50 from mid night tonight. (SR)

Thos who wrecklessly scream in bolgs should think of what they say.
Eg.. would you know how much a loaf of bread in a country who doenst produce wheat ? Have you compared that with the price is in Sri Lanka ? Have you been to India and seen how many people eat wheat bread ? Have you checked the price of rice in rice producing country. Then compare and make some comments that make sense..Otherwise this site would be place for idiots.

If the flour prices are subsidized by the state, there should be no reason for the prices to sky rocket. The reason for the price increase is also the increase in tax. When the price of wheat goes up, so those the amount to be paid as tax.
